From the Desk of Fr. George
Dear brothers and sisters, as I begin my ministry among you, I want to sincerely express my gratitude to you for not just being nominal member of our parish but for actively serving the Body of Christ, the Church in various capacities over the years. The list of individuals, groups of individuals, and families who have contributed their time, talents resources, expertise, and presence for the sustenance and growth of the parish seems endless. But be that as it may, I thank all those individuals who are serving in various committees and councils for your advice and counsel to the Pastor, and for physically executing tasks assigned to you. Your counsel and advice over the years have brought the parish to the level it is today.
More so, I thank the Knights of Columbus, Altar Society, Christian Service/Mother Mary Helpers, and other organizations for the contributions you make to the life of our parish. As you know, the celebrations of the Eucharist is the center of our parish life hence, I thank all who serve during our Eucharistic celebrations and other liturgies. We are grateful to the extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, ushers, greeter, lectors, musicians, cantors, sacristans, and altar servers. As I thank you, I seize this opportunity to reinvite you to the service you have been rendering and to invite more of our parishioners to serve the Body of Christ in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Our parish needs each of us!
For me, I am grateful to God for calling me to serve his church as a priest for the past 20 years. This week Thursday, July 21, I will be marking my 21st Anniversary of Priestly Ordination with the 10:00 am Mass. I am grateful to God that despite my unworthiness, He not only called me but has sustained me in his vineyard allowing me to serve the Church and her people in various capacities and places. Today, it has pleased God that I carry out my ministry among you in this parish of Caseville and I am certain that together we will serve God and worship him in spirit and in truth. Please, pray for me and that I may be faithful to my vocation and as your pastor. God bless you.
