Our Lady of the Bay Assembly – 4th Degree News
On the 9th of November, 2013, the Saginaw Diocese and Master Robert Krausnek held an exemplification of new incoming candidates to the 4th degree. All assemblies in the Saginaw district were invited to participate. On that day, 33 Knights became new 4th degree “Sir Knights”. The event was held in Bay City at the Double Tree Hotel, located in down town Bay City on the Saginaw River.
Our assembly 2372 had two candidates that would take the Highest Degree of the Knights of Columbus - they already were 3rd Degree members and now would become 4th degree members known now as Sir Knights.
The two new Sir Knights are: Sir Knight Tim Grates, son of Sue and Doug Grates, and Sir Knight Ron Karwowski and his Lady, Mary.
Our assembly is very happy to welcome them both as our newest Sir Knights! Congratulations!!
Their day started in the morning of the 9th after some instruction to the new candidates. All Sir Knights were then given lunch.
We then proceeded into to the exemplification ceremony, given by a Degree Team. This is very impressive to new candidates - All exemplifications and events of the 4th degree are done in full dress tuxedo, and most events include the “Color Guard”, of which any Sir K may join if he wishes.
After the exemplification ceremony ended, all Sir Knights and their ladies then attended Mass at St. Stanislaus Church in Bay City.
As the day concluded, a great dinner was prepared in a Grand Ball room. At this event, the new Sir Knights experienced a number of state officers, and past state officers who had an agenda prepared.
The Master of the Diocese congratulated the New Sir Knights.
A number of our assembly’s Sir Knights and Ladies were present at the evening’s event and congratulated our new Sir Knights as well.
Noted present at the event were: Navigator Rod Gast and his Lady Rosemary, Grand Knight of the Caseville Council Tom Mangiapane and his Lady Pat, and Captain Jerry Wroblewski of the Color Guard of the 2372 Assembly, who participated in the exemplification, and his lady Kathy.
I would be remiss not to mention Sir Knight John Nofs and his lady Gerry for all the hard work that was done by him getting us all ready for the exemplification.
Thank you to all who attended, and congratulations to Tim and Ron!!
